About Sri Raghavendra Charitable Trust (R.)

Sri Raghavendra Charitable Trust (R.) is a non-profit organization rooted in compassion, service and dignity. Based in Hebri, Udupi District, Karnataka, the Trust works at the grassroots level to provide quality healthcare, compassionate end-of-life care, free education for underprivileged children, and essential community support to rural families.

Our journey is guided by the belief that every human life deserves care, respect, and hope-regardless of financial or social status.

Birth of the Charitable Trust

The foundation of our service dates back to 23rd May 1993, when Sri Raghavendra Hospital, Hebri, was established as a small 5-bedded rural healthcare institute. With a vision to provide timely and compassionate medical care, the hospital became a lifeline for surrounding villages.

Over the years, the hospital grew into a trusted healthcare center, delivering:

  • 5,000+ safe deliveries

  • 2,500+ successful surgical procedures

  • 24/7 medical services for rural communities

A Journey That Began with Care

Inspired by a deeply personal experience of caring for a terminally ill loved one, the need for dignified end-of-life care became evident. Witnessing the emotional and medical challenges faced by families during such times led to the formation of Sri Raghavendra Charitable Trust (R.), formally inaugurated on 22nd January 2006.

The Trust was inaugurated by Dr. V. S. Acharya, with the guidance and support of Sri S. M. Shetty and Mr. M. Krishna Adiga.

What began as a mission for terminal care soon expanded into education, medical assistance, and social welfare-addressing the broader needs of the community.
